I am having the same problem with my wifes Iphone 8 after the update, no incoming or outgoing calls since this update - telstra network incoming calls go straight to message bank.

I am having the same issue with my iPhone 8. Cannot call out, send sms; can send WhatsApp message (likely via wifi), connect to internet via wifi
Cannot make WhatsApp call - rings then hangs up when the person I am calling tries to pick up

Son is still on 16.7.11 and no issues (oddly not asking for him to update)

Same here. Personally, a particularly terrible time to have a problem such as this. (Elderly mother about to have an operation.) 2:33 am Melbourne time. Really hoping a fix will be available when I wake in the morning.

Whilst I'm not with Telstra (Optus here), I did spend some time trying to see if this update FIXES the 000 issue, or outright disables phone features. Apple's support article is rather vague about if it actually contains a fix, though the Software Update in settings does say so.

However, I'm concerned that some providers may not have updated their end to recognise the new provider settings or the modem firmware version and so block the phone. 🤔

So many questions. If you go into Settings-->General-->About and scroll down, what do you see under:

[My settings on iOS 16.7.12 iPhone 8 Plus - iPhone10,2 D21AP 256GB]

Network [YES OPTUS]
Service Provider [Optus 54.2]
Modem Firmware [8.50.04]

For now I'm holding off. Seems that those here with issues are only with Telstra, unless anybody else wants to chime in.

Woke up to the same problem this morning after updating to 16.7.13 last night. Been onto Telstra most of this morning. Supposedly they are working with Apple to fix it. Let's hope for a resolution soon.

Was hoping there would be a fix this morning....

My settings:

IOS Version: 16.7.13

Network: Telstra Wholesale

Service Provider: Not Available

Modem Firmware: 9.00.02

I would give this update a big miss until this is sorted. As mentioned last night my Mother is having an operation this afternoon. I could FaceTime her this morning.

Has anybody seen any official post responses to this problem from Telstra or Apple? I can't find anything.

My settings:

Network: Telstra Wholesale

Service Provider: Not Available

Modem Firmware: 9.00.02
Odd that the Service Provider has no entry or version number.

I assume you've done forced restarts, shutdown and restart and toggled Airplane Mode on for a while, then turn off Airplane Mode in an attempt to reset the radios ?

And yeah, even though I've seen nothing else about this and I'm not with Telstra, after all the 2G, 3G 4G Volte fiasco, I've got very little trust in telcos doing the right thing.

Troubleshooting Steps (Telstra/iOS)
If you are having issues after installing 16.7.13, try these steps:
  1. Reset Network Settings: Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This is often the most effective fix for "SOS Only" or 4G connectivity issues.
  2. Verify Carrier Settings Update: Go to Settings > General > About. If a cellular update is available, a prompt will appear automatically.
  3. Take out SIM card, restart iPhone and then put the SIM card back.
  4. Toggle Airplane Mode & Restart: Turn Airplane Mode on, wait 30 seconds, and turn it off. If that fails, restart the device.
  5. Verify VoLTE is On: For older iPhones, ensure Voice over LTE (VoLTE) is enabled, as 3G networks are being phased out.
  6. Use Computer for Update: If the update fails over the air, connect to a computer to update via Finder or iTunes.
