Anyone else notice iOS 16 added tap to wake to the iPhone X display? I remember when that feature was exclusive to the iPhone 11 and higher.

I really wish Apple would by default add new software features to older devices when the hardware can support them. I suspect they added tap to wake to iPhone X because of the new Lock Screen features – but they could have added it years earlier too.

Tap to wake has never been exclusive to the iPhone 11 and higher; in fact, it was available since the iPhone X was first released, back on iOS 11.

WAs it? I could swear it wasn't on my iPhone X before...and I'd had it for 5 years.

I have had the iPhone X for five years via pre-order and just retired it two weeks ago. Tap to wake has been on the iPhone X since the first day and I have used it daily since the beginning.

Dude, you missed out on tap to wake for 5 years. Was it something you wanted?

In other news, I'm really hoping Apple adds the ability to delete default apps on iPhone X at some point.
