Something that has always baffled me. Running iOS 16 on iPhone & if I want to set a timer I go to the Clock app & select my timer. It then puts a ‘ Live Activity ‘ on my lock screen. Very nice.

I start a timer on my Apple Watch. I can see this timer by touching the timer complication or selecting Siri watch face & seeing the timer card.

Why when I select a timer on my watch , is this not carried on over to the phone with a Live Activity on the phone Lock Screen ?

In theory I could have the exact same timer duration separate from each other on Watch & phone.

What am I missing here …….so so daft & unlike Apple. Or am I being daft ?

I don't understand the logic in wanting to have the timer of your watch showing on you iPhone to. You have your watch always right there on your wrist (I assume, at least when you're running a timer on it).

To be fair you might start a timer for cooking on your iPhone but want to be able to then see it on your watch rather than pickup your phone.
Most other functions synchronise across devices so I think it is a fair point, and one I think is valid.

Even then I see no reason to reach for my phone and start a timer there, if I have my watch right there on my wrist and can start a timer on it.

It’s just the same flexibility as being able to send a message from iPhone but read reply on Apple Watch.
