I can't use Slack on iOS 16 since my work shows it as jailbroken. Is this something that occurred with previous iOS betas? Does it get ironed out after a few days/weeks or will this be the case for the entire beta cycle?

It depends on the app and how fast that app developer updates the software. This is really common with banking apps and one of the "risks" of jumping into a beta especially without even a public beta out currently. You may or may not have to wait the whole time, Slack is pretty big so hopefully not. I installed the beta on my phone last night and the first thing I checked was my banking app, because if that was going to be restricted then I would have gone back to iOS15.

You could possibly try changing your phone to be in developer mode, under settings->privacy. There is a warning about reduced security, but I am not sure if anyone has quite figured out what exactly is "lost"

Slack have responded to posts on twitter saying they're aware of it, and to email them for more info (feedback@slack.com) - I'm waiting for more info. Hopeful they will update soon.

I do have developer mode enabled (needed for testflight apps)

So far have my iPad 11 m1 on 16, but holding back on the phone. Slack is the one app that's annoying to break - indeed if they say no plans to fix for months I may reinstall the ipad back to 15.

Right now only my iPad has been updated to iOS 16 (loving stage manager). I won’t update my phone until it’s resolved as I need slack for work.

Slack responded to me and said they will not be fixing it. Here is their response from feedback@slack.com

Thanks for bearing with us
- We realize your time is valuable and deeply apologize
for the trouble you experienced accessing Slack on your iOS device today.
For the purposes of security, we've chosen not to disable this security alert
surrounding jailbroken devices.
• iOS 16 is currently in beta; loss of access will continue on devices running the
iOS 16 beta.
We can relate to the confusion created by this jailbreak warning, on non-
jailbroken devices. While we continue to explore ways around this, we can't
guarantee a solution, as we do not officially support iOS 16.
With that in mind, we recommend:
Leaving the iOS 16 beta, and reverting your device to iOS 15.
Or, reaching out to your company's security or IT team and, together with an
Org Owner, consider disabling jailbreak detection across your workspace.
For instructions on disabling jailbreak detection, visit https://slack.com/help/
articles/360042097113-Block-jailbroken-or-rooted-devices-on-Enterprise-Grid.
Please note that your team may opt not to disable jailbreak detection, as that
may compromise security rules they have in place.
Hopefully, this sheds light on things. Thank you for your continued patience; if you
should have any further questions, please don't hesitate to write back.
We apologize for any disruptions to your work day!

Using beta as a phone to do work is not a smart idea… you have test versions to test them not use before others to get better features

We build iOS apps for work. We also use Slack. I would have liked to use Slack on the device I am testing iOS 16 on but it seems that's not going to work for now.
