HomePod iOS 16: Volume issues, “Silent playing”

Hi there.
Came here to check if other users are suffering with the latest software release but it seems that I’m the only one 😞

After the update it’s been quite a mess. A playlist starts and then, for some reason, a song is played really quiet and the next one plays at normal volume. The volume bar doesn’t move when this happens. This occurs with 30% of the songs. I restarted every device connected to internet.

The second issue is the well know “I’m playing a song and my light is ON, the progress bar moves and you can’t hear a thing” issue. This is happening much more frequently now. And the micro-pauses (that were an issue a couple of releases back) are happening again.

Yes also noticed this issue on new HomePod mini using 14 iPhone pro

Same here with my homepods. It happens even using them as the Apple TV speakers. (sound check is off everywhere).

It occur even on IOS with airpods.

yes same here. The whole HomeKit and audio teams at Apple needs sacking. I could crap better code than that lot are producing at the moment.

I ran into this issue last night trying to stream music from iTunes on my M1 MacBook Pro to stereo HomePod minis on iOS 16.0
