Apple this week updated the iOS 16 features page on its website with some additional information about the Wallet app on the iPhone.

First, the page now indicates that iOS 16 allows users to securely add new keys to the Wallet app on the iPhone and Apple Watch directly from a website in Safari, without having to download the key issuer's app from the App Store.

Second, Apple has revealed that iOS 16 adds support for multi-stay hotel keys in the Wallet app. A single key allows users to check in and unlock their room with their iPhone or Apple Watch for all of their upcoming stays at hotels within the same brand. On iOS 15, users needed to add a new hotel key to the Wallet app for each new reservation.

Third, newly added fine print at the bottom of the page confirms that Apple Pay Later will be "coming in a future update" to iOS 16, but no specific timeframe is provided. Apple Pay Later will let qualifying customers in the U.S. split a purchase into four equal payments over six weeks, with no interest or fees to pay. The feature will be built into the Wallet app and available for purchases online and in apps on the iPhone and iPad.

As we previously reported, the Wallet app on iOS 16 also features detailed receipts and order tracking information for Apple Pay transactions.

Apple released iOS 16 to the general public on Monday following several months of beta testing. Key new features include a highly customizable Lock Screen, the ability to temporarily edit or unsend iMessages, availability of the Fitness app without an Apple Watch, and more. The free software update is compatible with the iPhone 8 and newer.

Everything is coming later is the new Apple mantra! Also upgrade to iPhone 14 or you might not see all the greatness like vastly overrated island or battery percentage. Then they wonder why people continue to jail break their devices to get features they should have always received.

I love HomeKey so much. I would love HotelKey too, but none of the hotels I stayed at this past year supported it

They ought to start putting MagSafe chargers into door frames with battery backup, so you can still get into your house/hotel room even if your phone is flat. Between 0 and 100% battery there's a 1 in 101 chance that your phone will be flat when you go to open your door.
It has already been possible for years to still use NFC when the battery is dead. You’re a bit behind the times.

That... uh, I don't think that is how statistics works. Your current battery percentage is not randomly distributed between 0-100, so they are not equally likely.

Consider: Your phone probably is more often at 70-80% than at 20-30%. In fact, on most days many people won't get down to 20-30% at all.

This has been a think for a while now.

When I purchased my 2023 Genesis GV60 back in June I added the Car Key using a link sent to me via email.

I wonder why order tracking (for orders paid with Apple Pay) doesn’t show up in the wallet app for my order of the new iPhone 14 Pro Max. You’d think that at least the Apple Store would support that feature..?

I get down to 5% almost every day even with little usage. But your right about it not being randomly distributed.
