iOS 18.5.3

I have 18.5.3 installed on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

My phone is not allowing me to use_, bold,etc on Message. I have looked everywhere for a solution. I can’t find one.

I’ve watched every video out there that is telling you how to do it. One had a square on the right that you could tap to show the keyboard changes available. I’ve never had one on my screen.

Can someone tell me if they’ve had this problem or if I’m just doing something wrong.

18.5.3? That doesn’t exist (yet). What iOS version are you actually running?

Bold was destroyed in the great robot uprising of June 2025.

I’m on 18.3.2, and the A above the delete key (see attached screenshot) opens a menu where you can choose from a variety of formatting options, including boldface.

OK, this was 18.5 and I have no idea where the .3 came from.
