Now the dust has settled somewhat with iOS 18.7, how does everyone feel about the Photos app; compared to how it used to be in version 17. ?

I know it's always best to update, but I have a 14 PM and am happy with the way the Photos app is on iOS 17.7, so I have reluctantly not upgraded to iOS 18.7.

Be keen to hear users experience with iOS 18.7.

While I preferred iOS 18.xx to iOS 26.xx the test of time reveals that Apple throws all its weight into pushing its latest version.

They stop signing prior versions giving users no choice but to upgrade. Those holding out finding they can only get away with it for so long.

Besides Apple loves to brag about adoption rate to their latest version and uses every available technique to achieve that.

In the end Apple gets what Apple wants.

At the moment my 14 PM says I can update to iOS 18.7.1
Down the bottom of the screen it says I also have the option to upgrade to iOS 26.

So, I don't know how long Apple will keep the 18.7.1 available?

Yes, and that’s the challenge.

In years past I’ve hung on using the “old” version until Apple forced us to migrate to the latest version. But being fully committed to the ecosystem, it’s inevitable that using the most current version is the way forward.

So with that in mind I get into acceptance even though I may not like the changes and update to the new version.
