While I love the graphic and the general sentiment, as someone who has been using computers at a pre-teen in the 80's, as I age I also prefer screenshots in light mode over dark mode. If I am viewing my computer at night, dark mode all the way as your eyes take longer and longer to dilate as you age so that is helpful. However, also with age, contrast matters more and more. A dark background with just white text...cool. A dark background that also contains colors? Most of the time it will be harder for someone with aging eyes to see due to a lack of contrast. If built for contrast then it shouldn't be a big deal, but then if you have expected a color set your whole life and then it changes to a different color set to be high contrast in dark mode, the mental effort to adjust to that, especially when older, is not worth it and you just prefer light mode. That's nonsense. People are already straining their eyes from their ever-increasing time spent looking at screens every single day.
Darker colors means less bright light hitting your eyes and therefore a little less straining. Especially true on OLED displays.
And if it's a fact that most are on Light Mode then it's only because most people don't know how to change the setting.
Silly normies.
What I'm saying is, I think it's time for you to
I don’t know, but I don’t think that’d be possible. Everything that uses FaceID or TouchID on iOS, when it fails, it relies on the passcode. That’s why it’s so important to keep that passcode secret. Can a app be locked or hidden with ónly Face ID?
So no bypass with code after not recognizing face?
If someone knows your code they can also see all the locked apps/hidden files.

Only weirdos use light modeMacRumors, PLEASE stop using dark mode screenshots in your How To's. Most people use light mode and Dark Mode screenshots are harder for many to read. I've started going to 9to5Mac and iMore.com more often to read how to's because they use the screenshots with light mode.
It is not Apple’s or anyone else’s job to prevent someone else from cheating. It is their job to protect the privacy of their users and give users as many options as possible. All cheaters in the world must be so happy with this function.
It’s none of their gd business 🙂I don’t get it why Apple is developing this. It only serves to hide stuff from others like porn or apps you are not allowed to use by parents, loved ones, …. You can already hide pictures. Nothing more is needed. Hiding apps is not normal. Same as locking apps… like whatsapp and so on. This only means you are doing things in secret and lying to others.
Also people with abusive partners, and people who wish to have protection against phone snatchers, unwarranted searches, etc.All cheaters in the world must be so happy with this function.
You never know where the mood will strikeNow people carry their “galleries” on their phone? I thought that was stored on the computer to contemplate it comfortably. Or hidden on an external hard drive.
if you can't imagine digitally-powered domestic abuse, you are fortunate. phones can easily be weaponized.I don’t get it why Apple is developing this. From the linked article: “With the feature enabled, Face ID or Touch ID is required to access passwords in iCloud Keychain, Lost Mode settings, options for erasing the device, and making purchases in Safari.”I have stolen device protection enabled and still get a passcode prompt after failed Face ID.
They should show different screenshots based on browser preference. 😉MacRumors, PLEASE stop using dark mode screenshots in your How To's. I always find it strange that there are a good portion of people here that absolutely hate options and can't justify a feature if it doesn't benefit them.People complain that this enables cheating partners, but if someone is going to cheat, even the regular lock screen and other features and strategies could enable this.
Rather, I see this as useful for adding more security against phone snatching or other situations where someone might have your phone while unlocked, as much as you should proactively prevent that from happening.
Moreover, the feature can offer slightly more protection against abusive partners, rather than enabling cheating partners. What about that?
In any case, your phone is your phone, and your data is your data. You ought to be able to defend your privacy. In a relationship, talking is the solution, not snooping.
It's always visible so that its presence doesn't in itself reaveal the fact that apps have been hidden.I want to be able to hide the hidden folder
