iOS 18 Photos — Map view not working at all?

When I select the “Map” view in the new Photos it shows the map, with thumbnail “pins” for all my photos, and I can zoom in to the map and the thumbnails all seem to be there, but when I click any one of the groups of photos to view them, I just get a blank screen that says “no photos or videos”. In other words, in the whole map view all my photos appear to be represented, but when I try to view any of them the app acts like they don’t exist. I can’t use the map view to navigate my photos at all. Anyone else having this problem? My photos are synced with Photos on my Mac.
