iOS 18 Rumor: Calendar App to Feature Integration With Reminders App

Starting with iOS 18, the Calendar app on the iPhone will feature integration with the Reminders app, according to information obtained by AppleInsider.

The report claims that iPhone users will be able to schedule and organize reminders directly within the Calendars app, without needing to open the Reminders app. Reminders are expected to be visible within the Day, Week, and Month calendar views.

The change will extend to the Mac with macOS 15, the report says.

The same publication recently reported that the Calculator and Notes app will also be integrated on iOS 18, and said that the update will include new Safari features such as "Intelligent Search" and "Web Eraser." We recently recapped iOS 18 rumors on a per-app basis, with new features also expected for Apple Music, Messages, and more.

Apple is expected to announce iOS 18, macOS 15, and other software updates during its WWDC keynote on June 10. The first betas of iOS 18 and macOS 15 will likely be made available to members of Apple's Developer Program immediately following the keynote, and the updates should be widely released in September.

Finally! It’s always annoyed me how much cross-over there is with these features, yet there was no integration. Potentially more of an Outlook scenario.

I want them to talk to each other! I think Reminders would be much more useful if I could add them in the calendar. I would love this! Also, I wish I could just make an email into a calendar item, with detection for meeting times and other info.

I know right? I have Google Calendar installed even though I don't use Google for calendaring, purely because it shows my calendar with events spelled out instead of those useless dots.

This is one of my big remaining UI complaints about iOS. I wish they'd resolve it finally.

Integration, not merging. You will be able to use the Calculator app functions within Notes.

My guess is that this is how Apple will design the Calculator for iPad - it may not be a separate app, but rather a hover-over window within the app you’re working on. This would solve how you stop filling a large screen basic functions.

Very happy to hear this. Was stuck on fantastical for way too long for this feature. Finally ditched it for Firstseed Calendar - which I like, but not too many updates for it. Happy apple's finally doing this integration!

Apple is intent with repeating the bloated itunes experience with safari, calendar and notes by adding a bunch of niche features.

This issue has been my #1 complaint about iOS for more years than I can remember. Why does Reminders, Notes w/ check boxes AND a calendar exist? Why in the world doesn't a scheduled reminder (task) not appear on the calendar? If I have a thing I need to do on Saturday, it's logical that the thing would show up on the calendar for Saturday.

As a result I've gone down some deep rapid holes, trying to find apps that do this. Some do, but MOST have ridiculous subscription fees or do not integrate properly with the existing apps (Fantastical). The one solution that does work is GoodTask, but it probably has the worst user interface I've ever seen.

I feel SO passionately about this that I created a MacRumors account just to say this.

This was the reason I used Fantastical, but I recently got rid of it to cut down on subscription app costs. Glad to hear this rumor and hoping it’s well-integrated; I’d love to have one widget showing my reminders and calendar events
