Are you having slowdowns, stutters or general lag on the iPhone 16 Pro while using an iOS 26 beta?
If so, please comment which beta version?

What’s the point of this for a software that’s months from being released to the public?

Betas change every two weeks and it’s only going to get better.
This poll is utterly pointless.
I’m thinking of buying an iPhone 16 Pro. I was trying to gauge how much the BETA version slows down the phone. This will give me insight into whether I should wait for the iPhone 17 with increased performance.

So, not pointless to me. Thanks for responding anyway!

The beta causes varying levels of slowdown on every device, it's not useful for determining how the final release will be. The iPhone 17 wouldn't be immune to it either.
Agreed. I am just wondering how the 16 Pro is handling the betas. My carrier is offering a really good deal, and I'm so tempted to take then up on it :)

Thanks for your non-judgemental response 👍

Been trying on my wife and mine 16 pro max on ios26.
I have notice that cloud restoration kind of less problem and device less heat, less crash and it faster. As in right now it my main device.
My Apple Watch 10, watchOS26 I have to delete all the backup, and start as new setup. I notice battery is longer..

It doesn't matter if you get an iPhone 16 or wait for the iPhone 23. Either way, Betas are ALWAYS buggy on whatever device you use. That's the point of betas. Don't base your device buying off of whether or not a beta is buggy.

This makes no sense. But you do you.

Hey there! I’m an iPhone 15 pro lurker here, and I’m mostly having battery issues. No lag, though! The only app that’s having trouble opening on this beta is 85 degrees bakery. Apart from a few crashes here and there, everything else is smooth sailing.

My iPhone is on battery-saving settings such as lower display on time, etc because an Apple Genius and one of my close friends who used to work at Apple suggested it. So, the battery health should be okay. Heat issues used to be a huge problem at the beginning of beta 1 and 2, but they’ve become more manageable in beta 3. It’s only when I use MagSafe and it’s in a hot environment, especially during the summer, that I start to see the heat.

Just updated to dev 4 and it’s a bit better, but far from good.

I have tried betas many times over the years and iOS 26 betas are the worst.
I'm with you on this. While I ordinarily give a lot of grace with betas - I've been beta testing for over a decade - despite being in b4 and relatively close to the first Public Beta, iOS 26 is the laggiest I've ever seen at this stage in the game.

My 10 year old iPhone 7 shouldn't feel substantially faster than a brand new iPhone, but alas.

I think all of the "blurs" and random jumping around of items (e.g. go to the Phone app, and change tab at the bottom) seems to be using so much CPU power it's slowing everything down so much.

If this goes to public beta like this, I'm serious in that you all need to consider shorting AAPL.

That is what I am wondering about - the CPU / GPU cost for all the eye candy. Thanks for the feedback.

Glad you’re not seeing lag. Have you tried it without battery-saving turned on? If so, do you notice a noticeable speed difference?
