iOS 26 camera lag

Hey!

I noticed with my 15 Pro during the beta & release of iOS 26 that the camera would sometimes freeze at launch, especially if triggered via the action button. I then bought a 17 Pro and have noticed the same thing when using the camera control. It can freeze for 5-10 seconds and I've missed enough moments due to it.

Is anyone else experiencing this, and any tips? I'm tempted to do a restore. I'm running 26.2 but the issue persists.

Yes, it has happened to me many times. especially if I have the battery saving mode activated

15pm. Haven’t noticed any lag using the camera.

17PM since launch day, latest release, haven't noticed any "app lag" or freezing ...

Yes, happens frequently on my 17 pro. Has done since new regardless of iOS version.
Assumed it was software so was reluctant to book a genius but now I’m not so sure.
Phone often freezes randomly also regardless of software version or app being used.
