iOS 26 has a claustrophobic layout

Anybody else think the is 26 layout is claustrophobic?

The rounded corners on everything waste space and result in cramped quarters.

Ever see 1940 & 50’s cars where the tires didn’t come out to the edges? Or overweight diva’s squeezed into a top tight dress? This is what it feels like 1 day in now.

When you round corners everything suffers for that freaking radius that brings nothing.

Additionally what’s up with all the wacko menus and now a prominent search window everywhere? I was happy to pull down for search, but now other important things are displaced and stuck in menus some two clicks in …

Whoever greenlighted this garbage should be sacked.

This is the first time I’ve been massively unhappy with an iOS UI change in 16 years.

Change for change sake is not good.

The phone can't be claustrophobic only you can. And from what you described, you aren't claustrophobic you just don't like some parts of the new OS design.

You can adapt to the new OS or go back to iOS 18. Sounds like you need to downgrade.

Don't really know, what you're talking about, but I quite like the new design. Sure, there are some small things getting used to (they still could change, because with every beta they seem to be flip-flopping with making things better or worse), but overall It think it's good.

I have it on my iPad and haven’t noticed this. I’m waiting to put it on my iPhone so it could be a problem with it.

For me icons is the least of the issues. I look at them long enough to touch them. There are more concerning usability issues.
