iPod touch iOS 3.1 update download problem

Hey, don't know if this is the right place to ask but I am new in mac rumors, I have a problem with my iPod touch first generation, i bought from iTunes the IOS 3.1 but when It started downloading I had a error (8288), I saw in the web that a lot had this problem but I can find an answer. Help me please!
