iOS 4.0.2 + 3G = teh snappy?

I upgraded my 3G, in desperation, to 4.0.2. If this didn't help things, I was going to switch back to 3.1.3.

It helped things. Messages now opens in a few seconds and is ready to work immediately. Text lag is greatly reduced (not gone like 3.1.3, but usable). Delays on launching apps are generally gone.

Anyone else?
