IOS 4.0.2 or 4.1 ???

My iPhone 4 came with IOS 4.0.2, to my knowledge there is a Jailbreak till 4.0.1 (Jailbreakme) and the next Jailbreak will be on 4.1.

If i update to 4.1 it will changes my Baseband, but my iphone is not Carrier Locked (UK set).

Please advise if i should stay at 4.0.2 or update my IOS to 4.1.

If it were me, I'd download Tiny Umbrella, save SHSH blobs for 4.1, and restore to 4.1 while Tiny Umbrella was running. That way I'd have 4.1, but my baseband would stay at 1.59.00, thus making the iPhone unlockable when a 4.1 jailbreak is released. Unlocked means higher resale value.

EDIT This is the second time today that I've gone back and read a post which nullified the point of my post. I didn't notice you said it was unlocked. Please disregard.

I'd also suggest going to 4.1
There will be no JB for 4.0.2 so no point in staying IMO.

Jailbroken 3.1.3 (old bootroom) to iOS4.1

Hi,

Im currently on 3.1.3 and it's with old bootroom and jailbroken via Spirit.

Assuming I've performed a backup, would my smses and other essential files be cleared off and deleted permanently if I were to upgrade to 4.1 now and await for greenpoison?

Don't count on the upcoming JB--greenpoison doesn't work on your device:
