Hi there

I just have a quick question. Is it worth upgrading to 4.1 from 4.0.2? My iPhone is sim free so I don’t have to worry abort baseband etc.

Thanks

Just read a lot about people not wanting to upgrade to 4.1, but maybe that is because of the jailbreak? Ye, the HDR looks quite nice! Anything else interesting? The Apple website doesn’t say much about what have been changed

This is disputed. Read his thread and watch his YouTube clips before you take his word for it.

For the record, the YouTube clips are quite helpful in that regard.

Please read those posts before you decide to upgrade. If you want your iPhone to not run as "smoothly", then go ahead and upgrade.

iOS 4 skips and stutters in general and is still not at the level of 3.1.3

That said, overall, its a better upgrade to 4.0.2 IMHO

Should've asked, but are you using and iPhone 4 or 3GS?

Because if you are using the iPhone 3G, apparently 4.1 was far superior to 4.0.x but still inferior to 3.1.x

HDR photos and direct HD video uploading are what made me upgrade and it's awesome. Everything else is just icing on the cake. However, people claim that 4.1 drains their battery faster and that it lags the performance. If that happens, try restoring your phone or doing a hard reset. Whatever floats your boat dude

That won't help the performance. I've tried every variation in the book to make my iPhone 4 run like it used to. Nothing has worked.

Thanks for all the replies. I’m running the 4.0.2 on an iPhone 4. I still haven’t decided whether to upgrade to 4.1 or not. If it makes the iPhone’s performance slower I might just wait.
