iOS 4.0 and contact picture problem (in iPhone 3GS)

Hello,

After upgrading to 4.0 I found a problem with my contact pictures.. they all look very washed down and in low res.. some pics are also moved around (they aren't centered as I set them up).

I read about the problem with sync'ed photos from iPhoto, which was solved by removing all photos and syncing them again. I tried a similar approach by unsynching mobile me contacts and enabling it again, so all contacts would be re-downloaded, but it didn't help much.

I can only guess how awful these low res pics would look on a gorgeous retina display!!
Any one can help?
