iOs 4.2.1 to iOs 5?

hello everyone, I have an iphone 4 on 4.2.1 baseband 3.10.01 and i use a gevey for unlock with t-mobile. I want to know if there's a possible way of updating to ios5 through preserving baseband. I've used snowbreeze as well as redsnow on a mac and when i tried DFU restoration, it was to no avail. is it impossible for the moment for me to upgrade? any help would be awesome, thanks and hope everyone had a great thanksgiving
