I have an iPod Touch 2nd generation. I don't have any AirPlay-enabled speakers, airport express, or apple tv. I don't have a wireless printer. Judging by apple's website, this would make 4.2 useless for me, right? AirPlay and AirPrint are useless, and I don't have a 4th gen iPod Touch, so Find My iPhone is useless, and that's all the listed new features (besides adding iPad to iOS 4). So should I even go through the small trouble of updating?

As Connor stated. You definitely should still update. It's free, there's going to be some under-the-hood fixes, performance fixes and what not.
