IOS 4 backup on IOS 5

Ok, so my friend is registering my iPhone 4 to his dev account so I can get the IOS 5 beta. Can i use a backup of 4.3.5? Will there be lags/issues? Can anyone with experience tell me? I don't wanna lose anything but i also wanna go the safe way... THANK YOU!!!
PS: I'm updating to IOS 5 beta 4.

I don't know about you, but beta 4 is damn stable for me. You should restore.

OP: It's not wise to restore from a backup for beta stages, especially from an older version. Most of the people who went to iOS 5 set up their devices as new when they restored it.

exactly, mines running perfectly, i don't have any major problems.
