I installed iOS4 on my 3G today and later realised that it wasn't prompting me for a passcode when waking it... so I went into settings, and turned on passcode lock which prompted me to enter my code.... twice.

I put the same (or so I thought) code I've always used... I remember specifically watching the code go in... twice. At this point it's muscle memory so while I may have entered a digit wrong (twice?!?!) I've tried as many combinations as it would let me before going into 15 minute lock-down mode.

Im completely screwed at the moment... because with my new fancy iOS4, I spent about an hour organizing 7 screens of apps into folders.

I can restore the thing, but geez- there goes all my folder-ing.

Can't I just plug it into iTunes to verify that I'm the owner? Or is restore the only option?

I find that I am in the same boat. I made a password yesterday and used it a many times. Ever since I woke up this morning though it will not work. Still trying to find a solution.
