Available now.

----------

On second thought, forget I said anything. Server is dog-ass slow now. Everybody pretend it's not available until tomorrow.

I guess I didn't need to bother jailbreaking 5.0.

Now why would Apple leave it off then add it to the very next update? It's not like them to add a feature just because the customers demanded it

I got mine right after they announced it and before anyone said the OTA was available in the US... had it DLed in 4 minutes off of my tethered Wimax! :)

Multi touch is not working for me after the update. Tried a restart on my iPad1 and still no go.

What's the trick?

Ha... yeah... it took me a minute too... I was like... "why doesn't it work?" then I went to settings and it was off. Duh.

OTA kept failing for me, asking me to do it through iTunes.
Oh well... doing it now..

My iPad 1 is failing OTA, too. Doing it through iTunes now, which sucks cause it's not a Delta update if you download it through iTunes. My iPhone 4 updated OTA perfectly fine.

Note that I have the "jailbreak" that enabled multi-tough gestures on the iPad 1, which isn't a full jailbreak, but maybe that is causing problems.

You mean like bringing back rotation lock to the switch on the iPad?

I can only speak for myself, but when I found out that the gestures were left out of the final release of iOS 5 for the iPad 1 I sent Apple feedback asking for their return. I loved using them in iOS 4 after activating them in XCode.

I'm guessing Apple got enough feedback requesting them, so they put them back.

Same here, I had the jailbreak gestures and needed to to an iTunes update. All good now though. :)

Yeah, I left feedback too. I do suspect that when enough people leave feedback through the official channels Apple's mind can be swayed on some decisions. It happened last not long ago with the Rotation Lock/Mute Switch fiasco.

Same here, I came to the same conclusion - appears that if you have "enabled" the gestures in 5.0 on an iPad 1, the delta update will fail.

Fortunately 28Mbps cable modem made the full update pretty painless :)

Guess I got lucky - I'd tried to enable the gestures but couldn't get the iPad into DFU mode despite following all the instructions so gave up.

Very nice to have them back "officially". :)
