Thank you for putting this list together. I'm excited about the personal dictionary, typing shortcuts, and custom vibration patterns the most.

Anything to make some of these routine typos more bearable, as well as the potential for not having to type in my full email address each and every time I login, register, etc.

Wireless sync of exchange tasks! Thanks for posting...I no long have to sync with my work computer for anything AND I dont have to chose another calander app...

This is interesting

I am probably being over-hopeful here... but it wasn't covered in a demo, so I'm assuming I'm reading too much into this...

The website says this under the "notification preview area"

Subtle notifications

Tap a notification to respond from any app.

Thoughts? Does this mean to open the ap the notification came from... or is it saying something else? Perhaps by release there will be a quick reply functionality?...

that refers to the notification bar that appears at the top of the screen as per the demo - http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/gallery.html#video-ios

*jumps for joy*

FINALLY, CUSTOM SMS TONES!

Custom vibrations?! and replacing dragon dictation?

Why the $^#$% didn't they announce some of this more prominently!

Since Apple has not yet published all 200 features, some of the following items may actually be included. But I can't help but wonder about the status of:
  • Find My Device: Current Find My iPhone is quite limited (e.g., does not show your current location) and buggy (infamous authentication bug). It needs to become a native feature, possibly integrated into Maps app.
  • Navigation: speaking of Maps app, while alternate routes is welcome, it needs full turn-by-turn navigation feature.
  • Search: ability to search mail message is nice, but what about searching every fields within Contact (e.g., notes) and Calendar events and mail attachments?
  • Photos: needs album management and rating/tagging.
  • Faster App Store: frankly, I think App Store, iTunes, and iBookstore need to be a single app. But beyond that, they need to be faster.
  • Notes: um, folder?
We should be getting the full list very soon as Apple releases developer preview.

I noticed watching the keynote the the Mac App Store does delta updating (downloading just the updated parts and not the whole app every time). Does iOS do this as well?

For instance, if TOMTOM (1.5gigs) needs an update, you currently have to download 1.5gigs and then install it, with a delta update you could download say, the 50 megabytes that actually changed instead of having to also get the 1450mb that didn't change between versions.

It's on the MAC app store keynote slides, though in the keynote they run through that very fast and so far I don't see it mentioned for iOS except for full OS updates.

I think they said it did! I really hope so! I think it would be too much data to do over the air updates with the entire update instead of the delta!

Now that I think about it, they probably did it for the over the air syncing to make it faster.

They just have to! lol. Otherwise that would affect over the air sync as well.

Yeah so I really think it is delta updates. I really think I remember Scott saying it was!
