If its of any interest to you, if you jailbreak you can install bonjour service so you will find your iOS device in the left of Finder.

if anyone knew the answer, you would have had a reply, guessin there's nothing official, so anything would be a guess, which will be of no use at all to you.
my guess is that they made a deal out of it at WWDC when talking about Lion, so i would be surprised if they didn't at some point.
