Now, I HIGHLY doubt 1010 WINS but I felt like sharing it anyway.

On 1010 WINS (radio) I heard...

"Apple's cutting the cord with their new mobile operating system. iOS 5 will allow the user to set up their devices without a computer, and will let them sync their devices nothing being plugged in! iOS 5 will be available very soon."

Again, of all sources, I doubt 1010 WINS has any inside info, but still felt like sharing. However, timing is very random for news like this, so you never know!

1010 WINS is a great news station.. apparently they get there tech news correct as well!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_10 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8E600 Safari/6533.18.5)

I'm pulling for early Sept. I'm tired of waiting.

Doubt it, we still have to see a GM seed.

Last beta to GM is always longer than Beta to Beta. Then about 7-14 days after the GM seed apple will release it to the public assuming they didn't find any game breaking bugs in the GM. I'm VERY confident we will see a GM in September, possible even at the Apple Event.

Fall doesn't begin until September 23rd and ends December 22nd. So either 3 to 4 weeks away until iOS5, or up to 3.5 months away.

That would be too late IMO, they need to get the GM seeds of iCloud, iOS5, Lion 10.7.2 and announce anything with their media event soon before the iPhone 5 launch, if they want to release it in october.

(iTunes 11, new iPods, iOS5 GM, etc...)
