iOS 5: for 3gs relying on unlock

i was wondering if this will work, and if not, what will for 3gs users that rely on unlock now.

-use snowbreeze to upgrade to ios 5 while preserving baseband and have a tethered jailbreak.
-install ultrasn0w

will ultrasn0w work on ios5 so long as you preserve a baseband that works with ultrasn0w currently?

also will ultrasn0w work if you dont boot tethered?

i keep seeing mixed info on this and just want to have a good answer to my concerns for anyone else who wants ios 5 but needs an unlock on a 3gs.

I was just wondering the same. Sitting in front of my Mac with my 3GS, I might just go for it and find out myself! Although I might be left without a phone in the process....

I would just wait. Its only been like an hour since the official 5.0 came out.
And I highly doubt Ultrasnow will work with 5.0 without an update.
Be patient people.
Wait for the update and most likely the soon to be released untether JB.

my exact thought, im super impatient yet i do kinda need a phone

i dont care if it is tethered, ill just make it untethered when it comes out, but i seldom shut off my phone anyway

I've tried it with the GM iOS 5.

It'll jailbreak successfully, but ultrasn0w is not updated for iOS 5 yet.
When you try to install ultrasn0w you'll get some errors.
