iOS 5 Mirroring App Idea

Okay. you know how Apple TV has the ability to mirror to Apple TV in HD. I saw in a post that the TV may not look like the iPad as in Real Racing 2 HD. What if the iPad was a remote for the Apple TV. If the game was lets say NCAA football. The iPad would set it up, and choose the teams. THe app would be NCAA football Apple TV HD control. THen with iPhones, and iTouchs they would actually control the game through wi-fi? Would this work?
