From what I understand the itunes match service doesn't start until the end of October. If I update and go to the cloud for my iphone now... how will my non purchased content be synced to my iphone ? Do I have to use the computer based backups in itunes to sync until the match service is effective?

Maybe I don't understand how the whole process works so I may have this all wrong. Can someone explain in a few words how it will work?

all the songs in ur itunes library that arent bought from iTunes, iTunes Match will find the songs and basically make them like iTune version of the song (better quality, album art, etc.)

That does him no good, while the service doesn't exist! Yes, you'll have to wait a few more weeks.

exactly. so will most people use the cloud and go without their non purchased content on their iphone until itunes match starts or not use the cloud until then? Or I guess my main question is are there any other options or workarounds?
