I noticed a very unusual problem after updating to iOS 6.1 . My cellular signal is always showing as connected to 3 G despite 3 G being unchecked in the cellular option under settings . This causes a rapid drain on my battery as the 3 G signal is not great in my area. I tried a hard reset but am unable to solve this problem. I normally switch 3 g off as it drains my battery and have excellent battery life on my iphone 5

Yes. I tried rebooting the phone. Did a hard reset. I can see that the 3G button is toggled off , but I still dont see the E on the top , I see 3G. The problem is my 3G coverage is very poor, so I never get a strong signal. I saw a battery drain of 10% in 40 minutes with now browsing, just listening to music and making calls . Normally my iphone 5 lasts the entire day without having to charge.
