iOS 6 Beta 2: New Features & Improvements Thread

Hey guys, thought I would create a thread where you could post new features and improvements you might encounter in Beta 2.

I will update the thread with new information if we see any new features or improvements in this build.

Improvements

• Everything feels snappier system-wide
• Maps has been improved in key areas
• Passbook shows more information about how to use it
• 3G Toggle is back
• Volume slider in music app no longer overlaps the airplay icon when in range
• The camera connection kit works again

New Features

• Twitter icon updated system-wide
• Gears rotate while updating OTA
• Shared Photo Streams toggle now available
• Sending a tweet via Siri has a new design
• Calendar events in Notification Center show ending times and dates
• Guided Access now works
• Smart banners are now functional
• Maps now automatically offers you directions to your home from your current location
• Photos allows the option to always add a new album, instead of selecting a picture, then choosing New Album
• Selecting a news item in Stocks app allows you to add to your Safari Reading List
• Photos and Camera storage usage appears in the Usage tab in Settings

No way...all the really smart people on the Maps threads stated that the data was all there since it always should be in a beta release...

Edit: Mine delayed on the first swipe to that screen, after that they're much snappier.

Yeah I was able to make albums in beta 1.

The moon now "crescents" in and out when toggling do not disturb mode on and off. I'm loving all these little animations they are implementing.

Also, note that when beta 2 first booted for me she was as she was in beta one, a few minutes later she was back to normal.

New Web Inspector feature in Safari. Settings > Safari > Advanced.

"To use the Web Inspector, connect to Safari on your computer using a cable, and access your iPad from the Develop Menu"

Sounds great. If only my udid was registered.

I'm certainly able to navigate quicker. Haven't really gone through much but I can definitely tell it's faster.

Maps seems to show more street names at a wider zoom level.

Oceans are correctly labelled now.

Hybrid mode is better as well, overlaid streets are transparent.

Woah! Safari is lightning fast.

They fixed the keyboard skipping sounds if you type fast enough and the app store is still the same from beta one for me.
