iOS 6 & iBooks...multiple copies of the same purchased and free books?

In my iTunes library on my Mac is fine...no duplicate purchased books.

However on my iPad running iOS 6 (latest release) has multiple copies of the same books purchased from the iBook Store. I tried deleting all books, turning off iTunes/App Store and restoring with no avail.

any ideas on where to find a resolve for this?

I tried deleting from the iBooks app but they also continuously show up constantly.
