iOS 6 installed, everything's gone?

I just installed iOS 6 on my ipad 3 and everything is gone, I updated via iTunes and now i don't have any apps or whatever installed, I choose to use the backup I made an hour ago but nothing seems to be on that backup or the iPad is not showing anything at all..., I got my contacts etc through icloud but now I have all my contacts double in the contacts app, please help...

IOS - Not So Great

80% of my apps disappeared, when I updated to IOS 6. Going to Apple store tomorrow.

Make sure you select sync apps in the app tab in iTunes.

I had to do a restore and was unable to use my backup file because my iPhone 4s was jailbroken when I upgraded. I just reloaded all of my apps and started new, it didn't seem like a big deal but I guess I didn't have anything I couldn't replace.
