IOS 6, my iPhone 5 and problems

Hi,

I have:
new iPhone 5
mountain lion
strong wifi connection and both my mac and iPhone on same wifi

my problem is that on my iPhone, when i go to settings, iTunes wifi sync, its greyed out. I plug it into a power source and still no luck. I would like to be able to sync iTunes wirelessly (i dont have a lot of songs or apps) but nothing works. I recall it working briefly when i first got the phone, but not since then.

please help

Have you plugged in your iPhone to iTunes and checked 'sync with this iPhone over wifi'?
