IOS 6 setup as new retain text messages

So im picking an iPhone 5 up in the morning and itll have IOS6 on it obvs. i currently have an iPhone 4 with IOS5 on it ...

i want to set up the iPhone 5 as a new device just to make things easier as my 4 is quite cluttered ... however i would like to retain information such as text messages and contacts exclusively

is there a way to do this without installing the ~300 apps on my 4 to my 5 ??
