ny somewhere
just got a (for me, LOL), new iphone...a 4S. moved from a jailbroken 3GS.

REALLY like the new phone, and ios6. lots of great features, enhancements.
but wish apple would ease up a bit on it's stranglehold of the OS.

i miss a custom lockscreen. even a new windows phone can customize that.
i miss bitesms (a GREAT text-message app), activator...lots of things a jailbreak affords (no sound on text sending!, using the up-down buttons to go to next or previous song, etc etc etc). etc.

sad, really. apple wants our iphones to all look and work the same. there's little room for individuality, options. why can't i delete stocks, newsstand? ridiculous.

ugh. so, am loving the phone, the new OS. but will wait for a jailbreak.

(end rant).

Actually a good thread comparing JB 5.1.1 versus iOS6 would be really interesting. I have no intention currently of JBing, but I have been tempted at times.

i LOVED ios5 jailbroken. besides the aesthetic (which matters, for me, anyway...considering how much time i spend looking at the damn phone),
so great options, apps. love hiding away unused 'default' apps; customizing the status bar, etc.

am fine now, really. but would love to have more options.
apple, for a company with a 'hip' image, sure isn't very 'hip'...
