Before I upgraded to the newest version, whenever I had plain white backgrounds they appeared as they are, white. Now whenever I put a white background they appear a little grey and I can tell because I can see the border for the dock icons which I could never see until now. I tried going to the settings and disabling the Darken Colors and Reduce White Point but my white backgrounds keep looking grey. Anybody else having this problem?

They look grey (especially towards the top) because iOS adds a shadow to very light backgrounds to allow the time and other information on the status bar, etc. to be seen.

This change came in the 7.1 update.

Is that so? Well I don't like it. I don't suppose there's any way to make the white backgrounds stay white.
