So I just bought an iPhone 4S off swappa. I really like the phone, and have used every iPhone except the iPhone 5C and 5S. I really like the 4S, but it just jumps and gets hung up some times. I wanted to see anyone has been using the new BETA with the 4S, and how it was running.

Fantastic. The quicker animations make a huge difference and everything is that little bit smoother than 7.0.4. I do find my battery is worse but I think that's more down to my 4s being almost two years old and running more taxing software.

Overall it's a very smooth experience, no issues here.

I have an iPod Touch 5G, the hardware is the same as the iPhone 4S and iOS 7.1 b2 is running fine. The animations are faster, and the frame rates are not dropping as much as 7.0.4. Also, battery life has improved for me from iOS 7.0.4 because I was getting around 6 hours of normal usage now I get around 8:30 - 9:00 hours.

See you started the herds and good to hear that's it's faster on the 4s also. 7.1 can't come soon enough for everyone else.

7.0.4 runs perfectly on my 4S. No 'jumps or hung ups' at all. It's pretty smooth, even with animations on. Turning on Reduce Motion does speed it up also. I have 7.1 beta 1 on for a while and it does feel faster.

Thanks everyone so much for the help. I have had iPhones before, and never really experienced this before. Can't wait for iOS 7.1.

Thanks for the idea.

My question is, does iOS 7.1 B2 run faster than iOS 6 on iPhone 4S? And does iOS 7 still drop any frames?

iOS 7.1 beta 1 is the same speed as iOS 7.0 (slower than iOS 6) just a bit smoother. iOS 7.1 beta 2 is faster than iOS 6.

Edit: They probably shouldn't have made it slower in the first place.

It's faster than previous iOS 7 releases...not sure it's faster than iOS 6 (maybe as fast, or perhaps almost as fast?).

iOS 7 was almost as fast, it's at least equal, but I think it may be a bit faster.

running the beta 2 on my 4s, i can say its great, especially with reduce motion on. but battery life is about 4hrs will heavy usage

even if reduce motion is off, animations are so much faster than 7.0. really. ios 7 is gr8 on iphone 4s.

Do anyone else have issues with tapatalk with have lag, shuttering a lot? Is it the app? Do they just develop a crappy app?

No-one outside Apple knows when iOS 7.1 will be released but I'm guessing towards the end of January or the start of February.

Perfectly? Are you sure about that? Yeah it runs everything, but not everything is smooth.
All seems fine to me, I suppose if I looked at things side by side I might notice. My kids are happy with iOS7 of their 4
