One is for GSM and one is for GSM & CDMA. Same build, for two different versions of iPhone 5.

a1428 is AT&T/GSM and a1429 is LTE sprint and verizon

if you have really good eyes and a bright light flip over your iphone and look at the bottom right under the iPhone test it'll say Model A1428 or 29... if you still have the original box it'll tell you on that too.
