When looking at the OS it seems like apple went a little overboard with the coloring. It's like they made a theme for the OS and you're forced to use it. iOS 6 didn't have this as much. While I think it looks fine the way it is, I see how some people would want to change the feel of things a little. Just adding a default of 3 to 5 other theme like springboards and lockscreens would easily fix this problem.

Yes, or no?

As polarizing as the new design is Apple will still favor consistency for all devices over pleasing the people who want to change the theme. This is what jail breaking is for.

Although I agree this is a solution to the techworld, jailbreaking simply isn't for everyone, regardless of the ease nowadays. I find that the OS itself increased dramaticaly into a theme-like OS, therefore it shouldn't be weird to ask for at least a little diversity. At least let people choose between a few themes if you're going to make the OS that colorfull and theme-like.

It's part of it but it's not the same, besides people are saying the theme is causing the OS to be unreadable here
