Can anyone that has Jailbroken iOS 7 on the iPad 2 comment about the overall performance and smoothness of their JB iPad.

I'm hesitant because I jailbroke a 2nd gen iPod Touch a few years ago and the performance became really, REALLY sluggish after jailbreaking. I haven't really used an iOS device in the past ~3 years so I've been away from the scene. But I recently was able to get my hands on an old iPad 2 and want to JB it. It will be used lightly so I could deal with it being a little sluggish but it shouldn't be unbearable like my old iPod Touch became after Jailbreaking it.

The iPad currently runs 4.3.4 (don't ask...), and it works fine. It's still pretty smooth. Now i'm debating if I should upgrade to iOS 7, upgrade to iOS 7 AND JB it, or leave it at 4.3.4.

What are your thoughts? How is the iPad 2 on iOS 7?

Lastly, if I decide to upgrade to iOS 7, can I still downgrade to an older version of iOS to make the performance more reasonable.

the 2nd gen ipod touch is horrible on iOS 4 even without the jailbreak

I think the ipad 2 will be okay running iOS 7, since it uses a variant of the A5 chip (which is in the 4S)

I've tried twice in a row and both times got the bootloop :/ disappointed being that I make money with jailbreak using locationspoofer.

So I pulled the trigger. I updated from iOS 4 to iOS 7 (I did a full restore with no backup) and then Jailbroke it.

Thus far, performance seems to be good. It is not sluggish like my old iPod touch. But then again, it is a clean restore and I haven't installed any Cydia applications.

There was a guide on MR I followed, but I can't find it now. Here is a similar guide:http://www.iphonehacks.com/2013/02/jailbreak-ios-6-1-2-with-evasi0n.html . Again, make sure to turn the passcode off. I also put the iPad in Airplane mode before starting the JB process.

It worked fine for me on the iPad 2. No bootloops or any other problems. (BTW I used Windows 8 - 32 bit).

I tired a few times on my wifi iPad 2 with no luck.
Doing restores with iTunes and setting up as new and making sure pass code is off.

Has anyone else tried doing the iPad 2 with airplane mode on?

No dice. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Try again. Worked fine for me. Didn't need to do anything special. Didn't need to turn off/on reduced blur or anything. All I did was restored IOS 7.1b2. Afterwards did a jailbreak. I'm on an iPad 2 Wifi.

I've tried from a fresh restore about 9 times. I'm on an original mini. Even on 7.0.4 it wouldn't work until I killed wifi.
