iOS 7 is the update everybody is waiting for as it will be the biggest change to iOS. And one of the most overdue update is the lock screen. The lock screen has pretty much looked the same ever since the first iPhone came out. I've tried to change the lock screen and add features to it.

What is it?

First, I've changed the look of it. A much more flatter and simpler look.

Second, notifications can now be managed right from the lock screen. Swiping left reveals the actions that can be taken. Swiping left dismisses the notification.

Last but not the least, is the unlocking. There are now 3 shortcuts that can be jumped into directly. Swiping until the app icon is highlighted opens the app. Swiping all the way through unlocks the device.

As cool as this looks, there would seem to be alot of problems managing notifications from your lock screen. Anyone would be able to see your messages and whatnot without even unlocking your phone (if you have a passcode)

Nice work, but I don't really like the design. I do like the idea of "the distance" you "swipe to unlock" to open a specific app.

That's already the case.

I love it when people tell me "this is the update you've been waiting for". It really isn't. Personally, I have no issues with lock screens current functionality, or the way it looks (this looks too much like Android to me). Why would I want a data and battery draining stock widget there every time I wake my phone up?

The slide to a particular app is nice in theory, but I'm really used to the quick sliding motion of unlocking, so I suspect I'd keep sliding too far, or not far enough and open the wrong app, which would then take me longer to get to the app I wanted originally.

Obviously this is just me, I wouldn't like to speak for everyone.

The only thing I like is the design of the slider..

It's a cool concept, but I'm good with what I have.

not a fan. like many have mentioned, one is privacy, the other is the concept feels redundant. There just isn't an intrinsic need for these functions. The camera function from the lock screen is already there, and it's arguably easier to use than the swipe to a certain location concept.

I can already reply texts..etc. while I'm at the lock screen, and if anything, I can just use Siri, which is even easier to access.

I would rather just see a bunch of icons like the camera that I can just tap and slide up on. But I don't think that will happen. Slide to unlock is Apple's baby.

Wow love it! iOS interface is getting old fast. Good job man your creativity is appreciated!

Isn't it how it is now?
