So i was anxious, so i got ios 7 beta ever since the 1st. problem is, I'm not a registered developer.

Now i have beta 6 and am wondering: will the public release of ios 7 on september 18th go to phones who are on beta? Do i have to downgrade to iOS 6.1.4 then wait for the public release? ive never done this before so please excuse my amateur ios skills.

After iOS 7 is released Sept 18, restore your phone in iTunes (back up your phone first). It should download iOS 7 for you and install it. Then you can either start fresh or restore your backup.

For this to work, you have to make sure iOS 7 is out officially...so it may be best to wait until after Sept 18. Otherwise it will download iOS 6.1.4 (the last public version) and install that.

You can either download the iOS 7 GM (google it) and shift-update in iTunes, or wait for the public release and just restore your device and it will download iOS 7.

Remember to back-up.

So what you're saying is that I can shift update from B6 to the GM (I'm on Windows therefore do not have 11.1 iTunes). But I will not be able to sync any of my data over from the backup because I don't have 11.1?

Yes. Shift-update will work and you will keep your data. If you restore you will not be able to restore from a backup until iTunes 11.1 is available for Windows.

Okay, but once I'm on the GM I won't be able to sync or back up my phone to iTunes until 11.1 is released for Windows?

It seems that way. You can use iCloud for backup type of purposes at least.

Okay just to confirm things, I'll probably just wait till the public release but I just want to know...
I am allow to update to gm from beta 6 doing the shift update if I'm a non developer right?
