After updating to iOS 8.1.1 my Cell Network T-Mobile has been stuck on 4G and occasionally goes to LTE. Even when in the exact same area with out moving my network goes from full LTE down to 4G and won't go back. After the update it has been 95% of the time on 4G where it has always been LTE in the past. Anyone else having LTE issues since updating?

I'm seeing the exact same issue but it's not due to 8.1.1. I've started seeing this issue last week.

I think because of this, it has been draining my battery by 50% overnight.

I talked to a rep at T-MO and they suggested to update to 8.1.1 and see if the problem persists.

I went to Settings General and then About to see if there was a carrier update, but it is still saying T-Mobile version 18.1. Hopefully there will be one soon.

Isn't 4G and LTE actually the same? In Germany we have "Vodafone" with 4G and Telekom with LTE, but it's actually same tech, according to some reps at Telekom/Vodafone Shops as well as an Apple Genius.

Ok, seems much more complicated. See:
