iOS 8.1 broke my iPhone 5S

Downloaded and installed 8.1 directly from my phone last night. When the install finished it reset the phone, but it will only show the white screen with the apple logo for about a minute then go into this dark blue screen with a thin white line running down the middle.

So at the moment I'm without a phone thanks to the update. I have tried removing sim card, holding lock/home button to reset and it hasn't worked. Anyone else got this? Or what should I do?

Weird.
My 5S updated flawlessly, thankfully.

I would do the same as you have.. try multiple hard resets, and if no joy, book a Genius apt at my nearest Apple Store.

Try placing the device into recovery mode to restore, should do the trick

Ah I tried this before but held down the home button after plugging it into computer. Now I've done it correctly and I'm doing a restore/update. Hope it works, thanks
