iPhone iOS 8.1 - is it possible to backup photos, but not videos in iCloud?

Is it possible to automatically backup (in iCloud) photos, but not videos? With 5GB of free storage it'd be handy to 'skip' large files.

Not that I know of. Your best option may be a service like OneDrive or Dropbox. Send your video there then delete it from your device. Otherwise its going to the cloud along with your photos.
