Is anyone else having issues with AirPlay since updating to iOS 8?

I have iOS 8 on my iPhone 5S and iPad Air, along with the new flat look Apple TV software.

I keep having issues with AirPlay disconnecting when sending video to the Apple TV from one of the iOS devices. This is using the YouTube App and videos from within Safari.

The videos play for up to 20 mins and then randomly stop. I have even tried resetting my Airport Express.

Anyone else having these issues?

I have had some Airplay weirdness with my Airplay speaker I have. I have the iOS GM running on my iPhone 5s. I have to select it a few times it seems before it starts to play on the speaker.

A bit of an aside: if my Apple TV is plugged in at all (to power), the sound from my MBA that I have the latest version of Yosemite on will come through the speakers hooked up to my Apple TV. As far as iOS 8 and Airplay go, I haven't had any issues. I will say AirDrop doesn't work at all for me.

There is an update for Apple TV 3 so it can play nice with iOS 8 devices. It could also appear tomorrow.

Used iPhone 5 to Apple TV 2 playing Hotel California via YouTube just now. And after about 30 seconds, the video stopped and the t.v. screen went back to the default Apple tv screen.

This is the exact problem I am having!

I already have this update installed and sadly it does not fix the issue.

I have the same issue on my network. I have a 5S and the newest Apple TV. I AirPlay YouTube videos or plex from my iPhone and minutes later it cuts out and goes to the Apple TV home screen. A lot of times when this happens my Apple TV drops off the network.

Luckily, I haven't had to reboot Apple TV. I am not too worried. I am sure Apple will roll out a fix for this very soon.
