iOS 8: Anyway to change the URL one handed in Safari?

Is there a way to change the URL one handed? I'm currently having to resort to using the home screen double tap on my iPhone 6 Plus and it's quite cumbersome.

I am coming from an Android device that allowed me to bring up a quick dial to change the URL when I placed a finger on either edge of the phone. Is there anything similar to this?

Currently nothing like that available on stock iOS.
Maybe when a jb comes out.
