I'm on iPhone 5 and don't want to upgrade to ios 8 until at least the first or second update comes out. Woke up this morning to see that ios 8 decided to download automatically without me doing anything. So there it was sitting on my phone taking up an extra 2.6GB of space. I deleted it but don't want it to happen again. Is there a way to prevent this from happeing? I assume it has something to do with being plugged in and on WiFi while charging overnight?

Dont connect to wifi while charging your iPhone.. If you do ,then the update will get download again... So be cautious with this if you dont wanna update. :)

I think the idea is if it actually already downloaded and you deleted it that should be enough for it not to do it again. I guess you can keep an eye on it and let us know if that's the case or not.

I deleted the downloaded. Now how do we remove the Badge on Settings (1).

Hopefully iOS 8 is optimized enough so I can upgrade but may have to look into JB options because this is ridiculous.
